A Message To The Depressed

by Dragon Boy & Robie Lincer   Jul 2, 2015

Depression grows in our lives no matter where we are,
It feeds on our emotions and not just our scars,
And for every sleepless night we get we wish upon a star,
Praying for our souls to get through to the light

We pop on pills and drink our night out,
We cut our skin and watch the blood drop out,
But all this doesn't give us signs of our way about
And depression keeps shouting for thirst of more doubts

I know what I'm saying; I've witnessed it all, and felt the pain
And took a vow to run this campaign
To bring us all together to build a chain,
To end depression and take an aim

So I'm here to tell you, that suicide isn't a game,
And it brings nothing but regret and pain
You may try to end it all, but what is your gain?
I was there once, but I'm glad i gave life a chance again

It makes me sad, knowing that some may never hear what i had to say
They ended it all, before they got the chance to get away
So fight the feeling, and put an aim today
Take a vow, to build your life all over again

We all got problems, we all fell down and we got back up
So stop the cutting, stop the pills, go outside and look way up
Thank the lord for your life today, because someone out there is struggling for their life today.

Robbie, can I join you campaign to end pain and depression?

Love, love, love this piece. It's all about optimism. I always say suicide is an easy way out, it's not doing it that's the hardest part.

    All the best, Em

The strongest line in this entire poem, for a lot of people don't know the effect it has on people and many because of that people take it as a joke.

The imagery and narration was quite nice to read and good job.
