Terrible things

by CarnivorousCoffin   Jul 5, 2015

Teenage princess,
with your hair all tangled,
It's okay to be down,
I know things aren't how they should be,
I know he promised,
But you should've seen,
He lied straight through his teeth,
"Why love him,
when you can love me?"
Your face lit up so brightly!
And you thought
you wouldn't be lonely,
but life is terrible,
and things aren't always what they seem...

So you cried at 3
and slit your wrists till they bleed.
You thought someone would save you,
But no, not today!

Teenage renegade with a cold, dead heart,
I'm so sorry he tore you apart!

What a powerful and heart breaking piece. The last two lines are gut wrenching!
Relatable to too many, unfortunately. Well written and all the best,
