Blitzkrieg (Lightning War)

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 7, 2015

Death March-
dragged mercilessly by our tired bodies
from one ghetto to another,
in torturous conditions which might kill us before their bullets.

Displacement -
permanently seeking safety amidst the blitzkrieg
that is exploding up our homes,
hoping our compliance and obedience
will buy us back our lives.

But with constant armoured attacks
and unprovoked air assaults,
which are killing thousands by the bomb -

I beg of you Hitler,
to end this lightning war,
let it strike my shattered heart
so I can leave the burning fire of this holocaust,
and fight for freedom no more.

This one escaped me at the time of posting, though I remember chickening out of the challenge! A wonderful piece full of desperation and emotion.
