Dancing Alone With The Moon

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 7, 2015

Every time she falls,
she lands upon rocks of memories
of what has already been done.

Her heart is full of all the pain
that people have dragged her through,
and for a while she spent her time
dancing alone with the moon,
covering up the doubts that barely surviving
is good enough for her.

And as the ocean waves sing to her -
pleading for her to give life one last try,
I think she is finally learning
that she too could be loved someday,
and she is not ready yet
for her hopeful heart to drown.

Oh Little Thistle I Wish I could explain how much i like this poem, in terms of word choice and format etc it is beautifully written, your descriptive writing in this is magnificent but the emotional journey you take the reader on is wonderful, from the first stanza of setting an emotional "scene" to the second of doubts of her worthyness of life which is there because ofhow shes been treated, broken trust etc to the last stanza of an almost serene hope.

One of my favourite writes from you ever. Beautiful!

What a beautifully written poem, full of sadness and hope. I love the personification of the ocean waves and the whole last stanza is perfect.
