Goodbye

by TheMask   Jul 8, 2015

It's like a nightmare
I'm seeing you in my shoes
The walked a thousand miles shoes
You left waving at the starting line of the rabbit hole I climbed out of

You willing jumped into it
Maybe it isn't my place to tell you how to live
But it's excruciatingly painful when I see you want to walk the road I walked
Your dead set in your ways aren't you.. The princess who loves misfortune

I tried everything to stop you without forcing you too
I talked, showed you how it ends, even almost started to pull
But then you stabbed me with your iced daggers
Leaving my warnings, my cries to stop, my begging in the bitter snow

Fine you want to walk it, fall down into the abyss, live in my world go ahead
I'll no longer stop you I'm done I can't go on
The stabs hurt, your glares kill, your dedication for misfortune is great
I will gladly sit back and watch you now.
After all your a big girl. Right? One who doesn't need help doesn't need protection
Just know the world isn't as pretty as it looks beyond that window

When you get hurt and no longer want that path I will extend my hand
I will stretch out as far as I can to pull you out
But if only our fingers touch if we can only feel the warmth from each other I'm afraid it'll be to late
It'll rain that day the clouds of mine will let out everything

I'm sorry but I won't dive into to save you, to soften the fall
I'm not strong enough, I don't have the courage, I'm not a hero
I've lived it once, already put my life on the line

When you crawl out, if you can
I'll be here not to laugh like everyone else
No I know how painful that journey is
I'll brush off the dirt, bandage your wounds, wipe away your tears
But I just wish you wouldn't go down that path, but you didn't listen to me
To one of the only people who actual care for you at all
This is goodbye sweetie until you return from the horrible trip you went on

Thank you. You took the words of my heart and penned them more beautiful than I have courage for. Thank you. I hope you Sweetie comes home with my Dear One. I hope they come home safe.
