Look away

by Maritza Quintero   Jul 10, 2015

Look away,
Please,
I can't stand your gaze,
It eats me alive from the inside out.
Please,
Don't notice me,
Don't look at me, I beg of you.
Please, I plead with what is left of me,
Don't gaze upon me as if I were the moon, when in reality I am no more than a reflection.
Please,
Stay away, before you get harmed with the shards of my heart,
Please, I beg with a shard in hand.
Look away.

Well written with a real edge of desperation and pleading.
