The Poppy

Amidst the horror and the noise
as bullets fly and mortars sing,
a single flower radiantly blooms.

    Hello Cassie,

a super concept for a poetry challenge. Was there a theme as well as the number of words?

Anyway, you have painted a war zone, with the flying bullets and mortar. A horrific scene indeed! Just a thought, would substituting the word 'sing' for stings add more depth?

    Good job,

    Michael

      Hi Michael

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The theme for this challenge was Hope.

I think you'll find that the word already is sing not stings!

I loved this Cassie, it was an excellent piece for the contest with your limited words, and it really did create a lovely picture of hope with that little flower blooming!
