Loneliness:

by Scott Cole   Jul 20, 2015

I can tell you goodbye
And look you in your eye,
I can smile one last time
If you don't even mind.

I can touch your hand
And never do it again,
Or put both of my arms
Around you as a friend.

I can turn and walk away
And leave your embrace,
Or never see that look
That look upon your face.

But I don't wanna be alone
Don't wanna be that lonely,
I'll miss everything about you
Cause your my one and only.

I don't wanna be flying solo
Soaring all by myself alone,
But I can feel it coming on
Way down deep in my bones.

A lovely poignant piece. It rings with the sweet gentle rhythm of a country song and the imagery is superb, draws the reader in and you become the speaker and the receptive character. Stunning
