And there was life

by Dancing Rivers   Jul 20, 2015

For god so loved the world,
that he left us in a lonely vast expanse.
That we would be told what's right and wrong
by the anunaki at our souls' expense.

And god said-let there be light-
so bang went the asteroid.
Killing those who'd lost sight
of His giant void.

And the new world began.

And god made man and he made beast-
with little difference apart from appearance-
yet man thought he could all of heaven defeat.
So god punished man for his interference.

Down came the rain and washed poor Adam away.

No, that makes it better. Like I say, the end is excellent.

Excellent, insightful piece about the arrogance of man - I absolutely love the blunt, quick end - dramatic in a very dramatic piece. Excellent.

Thank you :) I was inspired by the work of another poet scot cole. I read a piece of his and thought, damn sometimes these religious pieces, if written correctly, can be really good. So I decided to try my hand :) you don't think it's too blunt?
