What if

by Dancing Rivers   Jul 26, 2015

What if we stopped asking what if?
What if we all gave up and accepted our pathetic humanoid lives?
What if pigs could fly and angels could die.
What if god was real but he was malevolent.

Why if we stopped for a moment, just a pause.
We would see that what ifs are futile.
We would accept that life is an oyster, you can take it or leave it.

What if this is my pathetic attempt at giving myself false hope.
What if I'm no more than a string in a hang man's rope,
slowly killing all on my path.

What if this is death at it's finest.

A dark and brooding piece - what if, indeed.
