But A Moment:

by Scott Cole   Jul 28, 2015

If I could stop the hands
Those tiny hands of time,
Stop them but one minute
Would that then be a crime.

For I'll spend every second
I would spend it all on you,
While time is standing still
I'll enjoy my beautiful view.

What a look that will be
Getting lost in your eyes,
That minute lost in time
Both hands compromised.

If only for a short time
If that's all we ever get,
I'll thank God for our moment
That I stole with no regret.

For you are the fairest
The grandest of them all,
So way more important
Than some clock upon a wall.

Lovely sentiment - remind me of a poem I wrote called "stop the clocks (take them down)" - wouldn't it be lovely if we could? Beautifully written with a lovely, natural flow throughout
