I cannot explain
for it is my mind
i wanted to blow it out
so a gun i did find
i checked it was loaded
then ran to the shed
the trigger fitting in my fingers
the barrel to my head
i whispered slowly
goodbye tragic life
then i screamed loud
the sound sharp like a knife
i pulled the trigger hard
and was blinded by the pain
i didn't think it would hurt this much
just too horrible to explain
i fell to the ground
waiting to die
sorry no such luck
no ascent to the sky
they found me hours later
to the hospital we rushed
everything zoomed past
all my thoughts were mushed
the doctor told me later
though i didn't understand
I'd lost a lot that day
including the ability to comprehend
I'd lost sight in one eye
and the use of an arm
lost the ability to walk
i had experienced great harm
this is a lesson
that we all must learn
suicide is painful
you lose more than you earn
