Realms of Romance

by Chelsey & Naughtymouse   Jul 30, 2015

If I asked, would you breakaway with me?
To a place for two in foriegn lands.
Away from white noise and cluttered thoughts,
so we can lay in stillness and dream together.
Within the silence, rapsodic in its repass
we could compose the words of forever.

If I asked, would you erase the past mistakes
and rid regrets suffocation, like cottonwood
in allergy season, (cure me.)
Take us to realms of romance that not even
newlyweds in Paris have foreseen or tasted.

If I told you that I would take your heart
and hold it close as if my own, defending
that which is rightfully ours, lacing
our lips with poetic whispers,

would you believe in a love that is utterly
mystical? Would you absorb the way I
cater to your every longing desire?

Lets enfold each other in this embrace,
giving true meaning to our love-

Crashing dreams into reality.

    Judging comment:

I was so excited to see a new poem by Chelsey when I logged in and upon clicking it I find out it's by TWO of my favourite authors! And they certainly didn't disappoint. Adore the opening lines and the longing and yearning to break away and simply be together.

The second verse is easily my favourite. We try so hard not to take our baggage with us into a new relationship but nearly always do anyway and it's always our new partner that has to try and overcome that when they weren't the one that caused it to begin with.

I really liked the idea of dreams crashing into reality, and this whole poem is pure romance and I have no idea who wrote what as both authors mesh together so perfectly and flawlessly.

Such a pretty write, well done to both.

^powerful and exquisite, was looking for the bang at the end, but above was the bang......not bad though, enjoyed.

Truthfully romantic, there are some striking lines that made me ponder upon every question. It's very harmonic collab. Thank you for sharing.

    Oh My God!!!
I want to live in that state, feel those words, make them my reality. This is beyond what words can describe. This speaks of a dream that a lot of us hope to find.

    In love with it <3

I love this - a seamless collaboration. I would never have guessed it was from two different authors. The second stanza does it for me, particularly the "newlyweds in Paris " bit. Lovely
