Angel of Mine

It's been a while since I saw the light
or the end of the road to recovery,
but I can feel my heart letting go of fear
as my eyes leave their tears
in the over-grown jungle of the past.

You threw me a lifeline just in time,
for I was lost and broken until that day
where you gently placed an angel charm
from your hand into mine.

And although the journey has perhaps only just begun,
I know I have an angel to encourage me
to say goodbye to the darkest night,
and welcome in the light
of tomorrow's brand new sun.
