Beloved

by TheMask   Aug 14, 2015

The ravishing golden dots on this dreary night
You keep on reaching out and chasing them, leaving me in the wake of your steps
We settle down with our feeble breaths, heaving off exhaustion in each other's brace
You lay gazing at the sparkling night sky
I lay gazing at the dazzling star in front of me
You tell me you want to shine with brilliance like the stars
But to me you were like a blazing star
A ball of fire that flashes brilliance by being there
But you want to live in the vault of heaven
Become the gold the gods gaze at
However looking inside you I see an aureate soul
Radiant as the brightest star you yearn to be
Yet you nevermore look at yourself
Blinded by the glow of the dull sky you call beautiful
You ache for the vault, for importance
I only hope you shine once again
Not to be shadowed by the dim sky I see
My dearly beloved
