    Hello Scott,

    Congratulations on your win.

This poem is very sad. Mankind is amazing, in one hand it can create life and deliver the kindness of angles. However, on the other, he ridicules, murders and destroys as he sees fit. The obvious destruction you write of is the latter.

    A very good poem.

    Take care,

    Michael

    Judging comment:

I had absolutely no idea that this poem was going to end the way that it did and that is always something that I love: A twist at the end of poem/it turning out entirely different than what I was expecting.

Once I finished and knew what it was about I went back and re read it again, more slowly this time and savouring it more.

I enjoyed the personification of the trees and thought that made it seem much more real, and this is something few of us ever think about when we should really be thinking about things like this more often and doing what we can to help prevent it.

I found the entire piece to flow easily from one line to the next and though some of the rhymes were simple I thought it worked really well.

Easily my favourite part of this is the imagery painted along with the fact it is a poem that makes me think about things.

    Lovely write.
