The American Flag:

by Scott Cole   Aug 21, 2015

She's known the World over
Such an honor to look at,
So stand up there really tall
And please remove your hats.

She stands for peace and pride
Since the moment she was born,
Her life hasn't always been easy
But she's weathered every storm.

She's fought for her Country
Been to the moon successfully,
Traveled all the seven seas
And has aged so gracefully.

For her colors they don't run
She'll fight for her beliefs,
So she's loved and respected
In both victory and defeat.

She's an American by birth
A symbol of hope and faith,
Full of compassion and loyalty
Only we the people control her fate.

To our Country she's a hero
Though a few souls have strayed,
It's all in how you view her
In the way she is portrayed.

She's always went the extra mile
For all her followers and her peers,
So I sure hope we make her proud
As we celebrate her birthday this year.

She represents life and death
So her supporters are expanding,
And when they put us all to rest
She'll be the only thing still standing.

Let's praise her for her good deeds
For her feet have yet to turn and run,
And salute her for her endless service
That has paved the way for everyone.

Much better, Scott - means the whole poem flows really well now. Good change and glad I could help.

This is an excellent piece, but the fact that lines 2 and 4 don't rhyme in the 3rd stanza to keep the rhyme pattern threw me a bit, to be honest. Aside from that, love it.
