The Brightest Star:

by Scott Cole   Aug 23, 2015

There's a star in the Heavens
That's been shining for years,
Such a great inspiration
On those nights that are so clear.

It's like she's watching over me
So faithful and so true,
I look to her for guidance
When I feel I need to.

She's the brightest little star
That lights up the nightly sky,
It's that twinkle and that sparkle
She wears within her eyes.

What would I ever do
Without her to rely on,
To show me the right path
When I'm lost and withdrawn.

Sometimes I talk to her
When I'm sad and all alone,
Or when I have questions
That to me are unbeknown.

For she always has the time
Whenever I call upon her,
To enlighten my confusion
When my vision is a blur.

So as I look high above
And stare at her light,
She picks up my spirits
With her actions that excite.

Such a sweet sight to see
And hold in my heart,
Of all the other stars
She's so easy to tell apart.

One day in the future
I hope to meet her again,
I know that it will happen
But I just don't know when.

It's been sixteen long years
And there'll never be another,
That star in the Heavens
Is my one and only grandmother.

For she's not only a bright star
The brightest star in the sky,
But she's also a Superstar
A Superstar in my eyes.

Dedicated to my Nanny
