Beacon

Many days when I wake up
I find myself in despair
Wondering why God chose me
To live another day

I look around my house
So full of stuff and yet so empty
For a moment I think
That if I can fall back to sleep
God will take me

But sleep does not come
Only loneliness and emptiness
I seem to lack purpose and direction
I wonder how I got to this point
And where to go from here

But then I see you
And I know my purpose
I know that God has given me a beacon
To show me the way
Through this giant world
And with one look in your eyes
I know right where I am
And right where I belong
I belong in love with you
