Beneath The Pages Of A Book:

by Scott Cole   Aug 27, 2015

I mesmerize with thoughts and words
Bring tears of surprise to your eyes,
Take you to another time and place
With characters that you idolize.

I can be a real nail bitter
Put you on the edge of your seat,
Introduce you to feelings and emotions
That one day you'd love to meet.

I can create suspence and wonder
With every turning of the page,
Fill you with everlasting hope
Or destroy you with fear and rage.

I can send shivers down your spine
With agony and disgust,
Or make you fall completely in love
With romance and lots of lust.

You can put yourself in my World
And be judged and critiqued,
Or let your imagination run wild
And find that Prince that you seek.

I'm not always a happy ending
That rides off into the sunset,
Cause I can provide tears and pain
That you would proberly rather forget.

I'm addictive and hard to put down
So I'll consume alot of your time,
If you don't care about your shut eye
Then we'll both get along just fine.

Don't judge me only by my cover
What I look like on the outside,
Let your fingers do the walking
And your heart and mind decide.

When you've read my final words
My last chapter at the end,
Remember what I've said to you
And let it all just sink in.
