We are the lampposts

by Everlasting   Aug 29, 2015

God

We are the lampposts in the streets
awaiting for your light
To illuminate those at nights
Or whenever they need a light to see

We are the lampposts in the roads,
Unmoved by mischievous winds
Always standing tall
Awaiting for your call

We are those lampposts of concrete
Often made of steel
People come and crash on us,
And sometimes, we break and fell

But God,

You are always near from us,
You never leave us all alone
You build us up again,
And make us stronger than before

You have us scattered throughout the world
And many think we are alone,
But we work in solitude,
always watching those around
until people come to us
Or until your everlasting light... reaches us
to illuminate a lonely soul.

My God,

You are truly brighter than the sun.

Beautiful, Ms. Lucero! (: Our own shine is nothing compared to the light of God. I love your word choices here and how you describe every scenario. Just beautiful (:
