Those lying eyes

Those lying eyes

I saw a moving blade of grass that caught my
eye, I hoped that it was not a snake I did sigh.
You may detect a movement from the corner
of your vision, you leap from your chair but
there is nothing there.
Those lost in the thirsty Desert would sell their
souls for a glass of water to behold.
Their eyes gaze beneath the glaring skies the
shimmering sands reveal a big blue lake nearby.
They rush and race to be covered by
the cool waters embrace.
But they fall upon the blistering sand, death
has them by the hand.
Just another trick by the eye, eyes that lie,
the beauty you did behold may not be with
you when you are old, they leave with your soul.
Lying eyes we despise, what you see is not always
what you want it to be.
Only through spiritual eyes will the truth be seen,
not a parched dry Desert but a watery pleasant dream.
