Expression and emotions are right on top of a poems list and this poem definitely has both. A voice here is your father's even though it might not seem like it. It seems here that your father is one of if not only inspiration for writing. I think a lot of people understand this poem, for they are close with their father. It seems like that through the bad and hard times, your father was always there for you and now you want to be there for him. I love the play on words, it is beautiful as are the great lakes. I think it could represent a place that you loved to go with him maybe? The poem is beautiful and soul searching. 5/5

There is always someone in our lives who stands with us through the storm and mayhem like an anchor; and even though they might not be with us anymore or slowly fading away their words and actions instilled in us will never fade.

I like the imagery and each line is webbed with an emotion which is unforgettable making it a vivid read for the reader too...touching write.
