Self-Acceptance

by Alexis   Sep 10, 2015

Relax your shoulders & enter
my head.
Be fast and convince me
before the fragment
becomes a particle
& Lev Vygotsky dies again.
Another beautiful purpose
sleeps academically on the shelf.

It's 10:30.
I lie indecently as I leave
your brilliant theories
shrinking in the invisible washing machine.

it is cloudy but not raining.
I buy three bags,
I go to Mcdonalds to have lunch.
I take two ferryboats.
I need to be simple
& mortal.

    Hello,

I should really stop reading your work, as it is too damn good. You are teaching me a thing or two and I find myself in the zone of proximal development. This is a good thing, it will allow me to reach that bit further now.

As far as I can make out. This poem appreciates the intellectual aspect of the human condition, but also the recognition that sometimes just being 'mortal' and be like, as Jarvis Cocker states, 'like common people'

    Excellent again, and thank you.

    Take care,

    Michael
