Black And White

by Maritza Quintero   Sep 13, 2015

Imagine the world in black and white,
No color on the trees and dirt.
Faces become a blur of different shades of gray,
Hue sucked out of the flowers and bees,
Nothing left but our dignity,
Will we be fine then?
No more colors to make us mad.
Just shades of black and white,
I think otherwise,
It is in our nature to be unsatisfied,
To judge each other so,
Prideful beings and hateful creatures,
Even to ourselves,
Imagine a world in black and white,
How hateful will we be?

A clever poem. A world of black and white would be simpler but it would be droll, wouldn't it?
    All the very best,
