Sticky Wall

by Baby Rainbow   Sep 15, 2015

We all fall down
when love deserts you;
afraid it will hurt forever.

But sometimes it takes
a wall to crumble down,
for you to close your eyes,
let those tears fall,
and see who has stuck around.

    We all fall down

    ^ The first line of this rings so true, we all do fall down a lot of times and we either grow stronger from it or we crumble and fall. The first line really hooked me into the poem because I can relate well to it. when we lose love we all feel like we will be alone forever. This first stanza does well to hook the reader into your feelings and emotions, by making it understandable.

    But sometimes it takes
    a wall to crumble down,
    for you to close your eyes,
    let those tears fall,
    and see who has stuck around.

    ^ Love the imagery and sadness that seeps through your heart here. We all crumble down and walls fall. The people who are there to catch you are your true friends, and those who are not will leave your life, even though it might hurt a lot of times. The poem overall does well to explain the experience of rising and falling down and then getting back up again. 5/5

    ^^You have hooked the reader with facts and truth which faces everyone of us. That first blow of loosing someone we love creates such a hole within us and to face that reality is a scary moment for thoughts and memories always binds us.

    But sometimes it takes
    a wall to crumble down,
    for you to close your eyes,
    let those tears fall,
    and see who has stuck around.

    ^^Yes its moments like this to see and let realization hit you to let you know who is true to you and who is the one who really cares. Some are just simply afraid to see a wall crumble and not ready to see us fall so walking away is the best solution. Then there are those rare people who are there through your every storm.

    A fact of life and a message to for all to read.

    Oh boy, if this isn't the truth then I don't know what is.

    Having things crumble surely does prove the real from the fake. You go ahead and preach that truth girl!

    Hello Saffie,

    An outburst, a tantrum, an argument where words are said and things are thrown...

    you know who your friends are, you know who loves you once the dust settles...

    it is the people still there to wipe your tears and to give you a hug.

    Take care,

    Michael
