Panic in the Darkness

by Rob   Sep 15, 2015

I am terrified and not afraid to tell you,
That everything here is not alright,
Apparitions begin to surround my bed,
In the cold haunting darkness of the night...

Lightening flashes though the windows edge,
The wind howls with a battering rain,
If you listen them carefully,
They whisper tonight they will bring you pain...

Forsake not those who walk alone,
Or the spirits that come out in the night,
Fear does not adequately describe,
The deadly mission of these poltergeists ...

They float through the room in evil silence,
The hair on my neck stands straight,
I try to scream but my voice is mute,
Strangled by them death my final fate...

The covers that entomb me seemed to get pulled away,
I feel the coldness of their wicked touch,
When something wrenches me off the top of my bed,
This is when the evil begins to crush...

My head goes torpid as they pierce my skin,
And the fluids escape as I cry,
And as I faint into unconsciousness,
The apparitions bring me to my demise...

But then I awake in their darkened void,
And I am floating far above my bed,
I am looking down at my body,
And clearly my lifeless body is dead...

My soul has entered the darkened abyss,
It is the place the apparitions dwell,
Joining those who have already died,
As I leave behind my lifeless shell...

The journey into eternal darkness,
Is actually where I needed to be,
To come no more and never return,
Thankfully the spirits could see...

So close your eyes sweet child in time.
Lay down now it is time to rest,
It is then that I will take you,
To a place the deceased have blessed...
