The intent of the Judas Kiss

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 16, 2015

In many a dark hour we have thought of this
that the redeemer Christ was betrayed with a kiss
The last words Judas heard was do it and be quick
from the one given the power to heal the sick
What was His purpose, what was His holy intent
but to do God's will and go where he was sent?
Not to condone crucifixion, or accept nature
not to please wicked Romans or their legislature,
not to change the law of Moses that set captive men free,
but to show unconditional love to sinners like me.

What you do for the least . . .
Equating ourselves to Judas is a necessary step in the development of true humility. Only fully seeing his place in the plan allows us to accept our own follies as something less than damning.
Good meter and rhymes, Michael, as always.
