What If

by Jay Colon   Sep 17, 2015

What if we were meant to be
Then we f'd it up for ourselves
we're humans
we sin everyday

we become rational
we lose control of our emotions
we can't fully accept change

things change
people change

so we tend to blame each other
screaming to hear one another
it's just going through one ear out the other
we constantly argue

then we become distant
which leads to us neglecting our relationship
depriving one another
which leads to one or both becoming insecure

then someone becomes disloyal and dishonest
so we commit infidelity
after all the abuse
physically, mentally, and emotionally

the relationship becomes unhealthy
some become self-centered
some become the opposite
we put ourselves last

or we just try to take control
Control our partners
we start criticizing and nagging
invading each others privacy

we become the scary monster
all because of expectations
instead of seeing the reality

We are all different

yet we compare ourselves to each other
all because what he or she did you wouldn't do

what if we were meant to be
Then we f'd it up for ourselves
it didn't go our way
we through a tantrum

we rushed things
instead we could of been patient
taking out our anger and frustration on each other

instead of thinking before we speak
we say things that can't be taken back
or know things that can't be unknown
not everything has to be told

we hurt each others souls

we continue to argue
instead of trying to calm down
it could possibly be a misunderstanding
instead as humans we lose control

letting our emotions get the best of us

what if we waited a little longer?
timing is everything
what if we were meant to be
and we let it all go
