Getting old

by CRAFTY KEN   Sep 19, 2015

As life turns the pages each day, your memories
slowly start to fade away.
Someone stops and and says; hi, I haven't
seen you in such a long time!
You silently pray, please God bring their
name into my mind.
Is that chiming of the old clock leaving my
good times behind?
Sorry to say with many elders it is that way,
Father Time always has a price to pay.
My wife has a wrinkle or two but with her makeup
she is able to hide them from me and you.
Age does slow us down especially when we
have to go to town, getting in and out of
the car could cost the day, by the way.
Some sink down to deep despair, to them it
seems that many just don't care.
But some when their eyes grow dim, cry out
to him who is able to give sight to the blind,
then perfect peace of mind they find.
Spiritual eyes that will bring them to see
the Divine which leaves all fear behind.

Amazing! Totally didn't expect that ending! It's so positive and the flow is great! Sometimes it's not the aging that does that to you though.

Thanks Ben, I write as I see it and feel it, we have a lot of that in common!

Another interesting read Ken with an interesting take on age and the way society sees it and how we, as individuals, feel it. That line about forgetting who people are made me laugh; that happens to me now!
    Well written as always,
    All the vey best,
    Ben
