A Free Country (Mirrored Golden Shovel)

by Mr. Darcy   Sep 21, 2015

It is raining on his arthritic back.
Is this all a vetran can hope for, expect, for being:
An octogenarian, invisible to main society? This
Englishman's pride will never fade, unlike like his reflection.
Privilege, it is to be born in Great Britain, he wails,
To a group of youths. They retort by spitting on his polished shoes.
Grumble is all he can do, so he mutters, 'and I fought for the likes of you'

An English saying: 'It is an Englishman's privilege to grumble'

And they have much to grumble about, it seems - especially the elder generation. Thought-provoking and meaningful write Michael; well done.
    All the best,

It is very sad how the youth of today show little or no respect for the people who fought to give them the freedom they have today. Thank you for giving them a voice.
