The River Once More

by Good Enough   Sep 25, 2015

She floats silently, lifeless
Looking for something to grasp
A glimpse of solitude
Fades as the river rushes

Down. Down. Down.

Down the rocky banks
Past her own childhood
Curving around every heartache
Every painful memory

Fast. Fast. Faster.

Heart pumping, choking up
Cringing with a memory
Can't hold on much more
As she slowly fades down....

....The river once more

This is such a sad but wonderful write, sometimes i find repetition kills a poem for me unless used well and you used it perfectly, beautifully desperate descriptions ...amazing write.

    Hi
This is an excellent and thoroughly effective piece in terms of the structure and the way it is written. A desperate poem which has an increasingly desperate pace as it continues, Well done and all the very best,
    Ben
