The Invisible Friend

by No1ButMe   Sep 26, 2015

It's a constant game
Of take and steal
That leaves me here
Not sure how to feel
When you need something
I'm the first you call
But when I need your help
You're not there at all
When is it my turn
To for once come first
It is all about you
Will it ever be reversed
This seems all one-sided
And I'm so exhausted
To you I'm not important
You haven't listened to what I said
I just want you to be there
Like I am there for you
But I am just waiting for something
That will never come true
I just wanted a friend
You used me, then tossed me
It took me awhile
But I finally see
You didn't want a friend
More like a slave
You took and took
Everything I gave
But I'm done giving
I have nothing that remains
I'm done being invisible
I'm done with this pain
In this friendship
It's all about what you receive
So don't be surprised
As I get up and leave.

Excellent emotion here. It describes the journey of the need of a friend, but that person, supposedly a friend only using you for their own selfish wants. Friendship should be a two way street, supporting and being there for each other.

    well done

    and keep writing.
