A rolling flower

by CRAFTY KEN   Sep 27, 2015

A rolling flower

It was smitten by the wind and on the ground
it was found.
The gale was not kind when it was torn from
it's vine.
It floated away without a sound, birds chirped
as it rolled along,
but their serenade was a sad song.

Poor pretty thing, it had a legacy, it gave it's
nectar to the birds and the bees,
but now it's gone.

Not to fret little flower, your beautiful friends
are awaking this very hour.
They will turn their pretty faces towards
Heaven to worship their Father above,
and Jesus who created all things through his love.

Thanks Ben good review, I did put myself into that little flower in order to experience its short life, giving fruit to the bees and dying within the hour.

    Keep up your great work!

What a charming little piece Ken. I love the use of personification in this and the almost melodic and slightly mournful tone.
One of my favourites from you. All the very best and take care,
    Ben
