My Sleepy Eyes:

by Scott Cole   Sep 29, 2015

The slumber of the night
Entices my weary eyes,
Drawing them both together
And shrinking them in size.

Oh sleepy eyes of mine
Relax and slow your roll,
For the sake of both of us
Please do as you are told.

There's nothing else to see
It's time to get some sleep,
So rest your tiresome soul
It's some peace I need to reap.

You've been wide open all day
Taking in the grandest sites,
And picking and choosing
Which ones to you excite.

So as I say my goodnights
I just hope that you realize,
All the excitement we enjoy
I so undoubtedly idolize.

Another great little idea, Scott, executed with your usual knack for rhyme and flow.
    Hope you are well,
