My faith is like a container

by Everlasting   Sep 30, 2015

Today, I awoke yearning to pray.
The air I breathe feels uneasy.

---

Outside of my home is sunny and warm,
though I still feel anxiously stress.
I feel a void in my chest
like I've been consumed out of my faith
but my faith is not food...

My faith can't be brought at the store.
nor can it be growth for consumption.

---

my faith is more like a container
where food goes.
my faith is like a container
where the food I grow for consumption goes

Yes, my faith is the container
that holds me together

I am the food
that my faith holds
together!

I am the food that might rot
if my faith stores me for too long

I am the food that might rot
if no one eats from the faith
that holds me together.

And today,
this container is empty.
And I,
yearn to pray.

Thank you Koan, what made me write was my need to know why I was feeling the way I was feeling, which in the end, I feel only myself would understand it, since I can't possibly explain it.
