Fatigue the 2nd

by Dancing Rivers   Oct 2, 2015

Hello dear friend where have you been?
I've been buried alive in your happy dreams.
Oh my dear friend and what did you see?
I saw many losses (between you and me)

Hello old friend why are you back?
I am back because in company you lack.
Oh dear old friend I feel empty as a sack!
I know dear I'm here always know that.

My cherished friend why is this so hard?
Your heart's been charred.
Oh cherished friend I'm deeply scarred!
Indeed you are.

Beloved friend stay forever!
I never left, you just don't remember.
It's been such a grey September!
My dear your tears flow as feathers.

Dear fatigue why am I so empty?
He shattered your dreams.
Why am I so weary?
It's a repetition of history.

Friend are you my foe?
No, I am the one always here for you.
Whatever shall I do?
Believe in a day bright and new

Love the conversation style of this poem, and how you are speaking to the Fatigue as a person, really makes the poem interesting and different.

I think it is worded well, good flow, and I like how you give a bit of history too, that you have known this "friend" before, and it implies that perhaps things got better for a while, but have now returned to how they were before, which is always sad in this type of case.

I think the ending is realistic, that all you really can do is hope that there is a brighter day ahead, although inside you do not feel it, you do not feel hopeful at all, and you don't even want to believe in the light anymore.

    Good write.

Brilliant piece with a great flow and a really strong last stanza which all poems in this format should have in my opinion.
