Time and the Rivers

by Larry Chamberlin   Oct 2, 2015

Your river flows throughout this lovely country
past the humble home residing on its banks.
The house, too, flows - for generations;
flows through time like a river;
children born here grow up
find mates then drift away,
coming back for funerals
yet someone stays back,
someone always stays,
keeps this house
a home flowing
through
ages.

Your rivers flow through our lives.

    Wonderful piece larry. The last line is very touching but the poem as a whole is very fitting.
    All the very best,

    This is a very touching poem L! It hits me hard for I know exactly the feeling you had when you wrote this piece... Hopefully, unlike me you can hold on to the "house"
