Conversations with the Heart

by Saerelune   Oct 5, 2015

"I miss the way you replace
the raspberry of my lipstick
with the taste of your kiss"

one message
... after another

I can feel your face
against the softness of my bosom,
pressing whimpers into it.

"A man is not supposed to cry"

But I love you either way,
and I cannot comprehend
how tears would make you weaker.
They speak to me like poetry,
I touch your cheek and I know
that you are more than mere digits.

This is how I know
that we surpass the surreal.
I will make you bad coffee each morning
and kiss away the bitterness.
All I'd ask of you is to keep your soul warm.
Stay near the hearth, bath in the sun,
do whatever you need, but please
stay warm for me.

"I can't bear your coldness"

Because winter is strong here.
I need you, can't you see?
The way I tug at your shirt
asking you to put me to sleep
with a mere, child-like stare.

I can be a little girl with you;
hug my teddy bear at twenty-one,
if not, your jacket, and at night
you will treat me like a woman.
Plant your soft lips all over me,
make me fluttery with desire.

"He's a keeper"

You keep the butterflies in my bosom,
sometimes I wonder if you like to put your ear there
just to listen to them flapping against my heart.

thud thud
... thud thud

beating so loudly, for you, only you
my guardian on his dark horse.

"Did it hurt when you fell out of heaven?"

I chuckle.

That's us.

"I can pretend to be your angel in disguise, if you want to"
