The Rage of Angels

by J Nair   Oct 5, 2015

Green paddy fields, swaying in the breeze,
Luscious fruits weighing down the boughs,
Herds of cattle grazing and homes with larders full.
Secrets they unfolded, to meet all our ends.

Snow on the mountain peaks, Dew drops in the meadows
First ray of dawn that streaks the sky and fills up the world, with colors galore.
Flowers that bloom, Colours of different plumes.
What is beauty, our eyes behold!

The cool, star studded nights,
The floating moon at a distance,
The gurgling of streams running by,
The calmness of the ocean so vast.
What is peace & tranquility, we have felt deep within.

These are blessings showered upon, by loving angels that surround us.

But when we hold out our hands
Only to reach out for more
To ask for more, to snatch some more,
Never ever tiring from wanting,
Each and every mortal has contributed
To the AGONY OF MOTHER NATURE.

We drilled into her deepest cores
And never did tire, of sucking her dry.
Unashamedly we plundered her wealth,
Brandished lethal weapons and tore up her skies.
Her Beauty, Her Peace with our greed we endangered!!
Why then are we now shocked?
Why are we stunned?
When the rage of angels rose high up in waves
When the earth shook and the tremors reached one and all,
Why are there tears now?
Why all this turmoil?

Did we ever stop, to give it a thought?
All that we gave, is all what we got!

The greed of humans has got Mother Nature on her toes to unleash her anger. We admire her beauty, awed by her "how does it happen" feeling and then we ourselves ruin it. Its like killing her and her children. The title drew me to read this poem and I wasn't disappointed. Liked it.
