The Caged Bird

by Vince Deathrose   Oct 5, 2015

Small little heart once pure that broke so young and bled so fast. I had once been so free and happy but I now stand alone as still as a doll. I had though you loved me and I as you, But all I was just the perfect "doll" for you. You had taken away the life I once had that been filled with happiness and love but I am just like all your other puppets you have.

You had told me id be the most perfect doll you ever had and wouldn't share me with anyone else. Had I know that you meant what you had said I would still be free like a bird. People say dolls don't feel pain, don't feel lonely but that isn't true. I had felt the pain, I STILL feel lonely even in death. Because all I am now is just a doll... a broken, sad, doll.

Now even in death I hold this bird cage with the bird that once had been free like me. The bird that had the freedom to fly away and be far away but had lost that because a caged bird cannot fly away when locked away like a doll can't leave its Master.

All I can do now is be the still doll you want me to be... the broken happiness lost doll because I can't run away for a doll has no feelings and is just a toy that may be used.

I once had freedom like the caged bird but had lost that to a man I had loved...

I am not a fan of the formatting here, but your words, the way you put this together and pieced it of so many interesting techniques is stunning.

I hope to see more from you.
