Loved

Loved

I'm going to love you all my life.
Said the woman in my dreams.
She comes to me during the starlight.
On the whisp of a moon beam.

I can almost make out her features.
When she holds me in her heart.
The glow of her angelic smile.
Makes me never want to part.

I see her in the soft fuzzy land.
Between bedtime and awake.
She holds my hand so tenderly close.
As we walk along the lake.

But the morning soon arrives with shout.
And I lose my princess fair.
She'll come again some night very soon.
To twirl fingers in my hair.

I've prayed that I could know her better.
And spend my days with her too.
But she's just a nighttime dreamy love.
That nightly says yes' I Do.

Then she fades into the dreamland world.
Trixt reason and fantasy.
I love her and know we'll meet again.
Under starlight canopy.

Hello Michael and welcome to P&Q.
A lovely, wistful first piece from you here - I've written a couple like this myself also with a similar rhyme structure. Some lovely words and images throughout this piece.
Well done and all the very best,
    Ben

Thank you for those words Ben. I was going to lead with a nature one, but oh well
