Depend on Nothing; Except Death

by Brook   Oct 8, 2015

Best friends, became strangers
Over words they left unspoken
I fake a smile; hide the pain,
Only she knew that I was broken.

Yet, I'd go running, without fail,
Each time she called my name
Knowing when I needed her
She'd gladly do the same.

In my darkest hour, I reached to her,
But she just turned away.
As depressions sea, flooded in,
She let me drown that day.

Please worry not, death came quick,
Soon they'll lay me in the ground
Though my life has ended now,
My search for peace was found.

I am not a grammar Nazi so I also read a pun into a typo

Four letter words they left unspoken

Love is a four letter word and for is a three letter word that goes well before "the"

The passion is delivered well in this free verse 5>>>>>>>>>>
