Altared Plans (ContraRictameter)

by Larry Chamberlin   Oct 11, 2015

Word of your coming reached me far too late
did not halt the binding promise
left me woeful and yet
never alone
married
the wrong lover
has accepted my hand
because I lost faith in your love
word of your coming reached me far too late

    Sad poetry, striking this week.
The title itself, brought the Marriage theme directly to my head. And the the blend of words, expressing one's self in such flippy wording way "word of your.." "and yet- never alone" "never alone"-"married"

It's just an amazing form that was written in a great way. The tune of sadness and woefulness and somewhat that sense of blame, is just touching and raw like fresh meat.

Well done! Nailed the form with great emotions.

This really is a very clever little piece Larry. The way the first line comes back round on itself at the end is heightened enormously by the wonderful format you've created.
This is a sad tale indeed and one that moved me. I will nominate this tomorrow when my votes are renewed.
    All the very best,
    Ben

I should say that reading Hellon's Rictameter last night inspired this piece:
