Running From The Truth

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 13, 2015

I ran from the noise
of you slamming the door behind you -
if I don't hear it,
you never left.

I feel like my ribs are broken
just from crying so heavily,
still trying to breathe at the same time!

I didn't have a flight path in mind,
I just keep on running,
even though I don't know where I'm going.

I wish I could remember the days
where I could feel your love surround me,
no matter the distance between us,
and I wish you could miss that too!

I ran from the noise of you walking away,
remembering when we first met...

Please, lets go back to that?

    Dear Baby R

The desperation in these words hurts. The idea of not hearing the last retracing steps sounds hauntingly real.

    Liked the expressions.

    Thank you.
