I said never again |
by Zabadak
Once again, the assumption is that this is about Liam, Saffie, but as with other poems of yours, it could be someone else you know and are close to, or purely generic, depending on how you are feeling. Whichever, it is an outstanding piece of work. The feelings, the conflicts, the fears and worries are all keenly felt, and if they don't affect other readers in the same way, then they are without emotion! I particularly love the lines 'perhaps if I wrote it in a letter, you would taste my silence'! So evocative of what you are trying to express and let's the reader know that you are also very aware of your own often silent responses, which can be so frustrating for your friends!! Impressive poem, Saffie! |

It's hard to keep people away from you when they have touched your life as deeply as some do, despite what we promise ourselves. |
