The Walls Of This House

by MARVIN PRIZE   Oct 15, 2015

Lord! We are here today_ together,
heaven help us please.
Nothing lasts forever_ i know.
We are happy, we are a family.
But i can see the end,
as it unfolds into the horizon of reality.
I know you will remember me_
Sweeping and scrubbing the floors
And polishing these doors.
Though the good of today
May be the history of tomorrow,
Just say you are going to remember the times.
Say you will want me in this house,
One more time, even for a day.
Even if its in your scariest nightmares.
I promise, "no one will know about the times you made me sob."
I know i will somehow miss
this environment_ i will surely do.
The walls of this house
Have become so familiar_ its so sad,
That i couldn't stay here for eternity.
Perhaps we shall pay visits,
Perhaps we shall miss each other.
Someday when i go to start my own_
I hope today's happiness
Will make sweetest memories in both of us.
To you my last request is_
Say, you-will-remember
The good we did for each other,
Says you will miss me,
Even if its just-a-pretend...

Excellent write. I particularly like, " I promise, no one will know about the times you made me sob". Powerful stuff.
    All the very best,
