Healing Butterfly

I closed my eyes
and as if by magic,
you appeared beside me.
We were both sitting on the beach,
with a warm breeze brushing our cheeks.

I begin to relax as you tell me a story
of a butterfly once so hurt,
she never thought she could fly again,
but then one day she took grasp
of her undiscovered dreams,
and said goodbye to the past.

And in that butterfly's world,
where cruelty and darkness grew,
she emerged from her cocoon
into a world where only diamonds now remain.

I closed my eyes,
and as if my magic,
you suddenly appeared in my heart.

    Saffie, this is a beautifully positive, uplifting, enchanting and magical piece of writing. A brief summary of your life story so far, and hopefully into the future, in a fantasy type setting! I love it! You write so eloquently in poetry, showing your 'real' ability to express yourself and your feelings. I truly hope that one day you will be able to do the same verbally, face to face, with people who love you, including the context!
