A Glimpse of Losing You

Can you see my fears
hidden in silence
behind my eyes.

Turning the light off last night
felt like I was spending one night without you-
a glimpse of what it will feel like
when you walk away
after seeing all of me unwrapped.

It felt like you were miles away,
too far away to return,
and even though I knew
that this irrational fear was untrue,

it still felt like I was losing you.
