Keep Our Poetry Site Alive!

by donna   Oct 18, 2015

I was wrong this site's not died.
No longer buzzing as I implied!
Although now social networks thrive.
Poetry, clearly, is still alive!

Technology moves on every day.
Gadgets are never far away.
Laptops, tablets, your mobile phone.
Yet you're sat there on your own.

Sharing on facebook or sending a tweet.
To hundreds of 'friends' you never will meet.
Only showing them what you WANT to be.
In return, their perfect lives are out there to see.

I'm glad I found my way back here.
Somewhere to share my hopes and fear.
To read your poems that you share.
Compassion and emotion all laid bare.

Talented poets with your stories to tell.
I enjoy reading what You do so well.
So keep them coming, we need to strive.
To keep our poetry site alive!

    Dear Donna
I enjoy reading your poems. More than the technical aspects of a well rounded poem, i always get a feeling that your poetry has got a soul.

it reflects the nuances and idiosyncrasies of life, irrespective of the genre it comes under.

And speaking of this one , it is so true. this site is an answer to all those who really cherish poetry. I am glad i found it. Each line of this poem stands true for me.

I'm glad you've found your way back to the site, Donna. Having people like you who obviously have a love for the site, even after some time away, is fantastic.

Not usually a fan of rhyme poems, just because the rhymes tend to be overdone and not really fresh, however when I read this I couldn't help but smile due to the positive attitude that was flowing from your thoughts.

Your voice was powerful in this piece and I felt happy when reading it. I can't wait to see what other new poems you bring to the site.
